Summary
Do you enjoy kitchen work? Don't mind the heat? Dear Diary Coffee serves vegan tacos, grab-and-go lunches, and cookies. We're looking for someone who can prepare foods at our off-site facility on a part time basis. This facility is only about a mile from our shop at 1212 Chicon St.
Your day to day
You'll work with a helper for the first few weeks while you learn the recipes and nail down an efficient workflow. After that, you'll mostly work on your own.
Thursdays you'll cook all the taco ingredients and bake cookies.
Fridays you'll roll the tacos and make deli bowls. You'll also deliver all the finished foods to Dear Diary Coffee.
Each shift will take about 6 hours, for a total of 12 hours per week. Please note that the commissary kitchen can get up to 90ºF indoors in the summer. There's an ice machine, so you can sip on cold drinks the whole time.
After your initial training period, you'll be held to a quota of 120 tacos, 32 bowls, and 24 cookies per week.
Compensation
You'll be paid $396.00 every two weeks via regular payroll. We can write you a check or do direct deposit; whichever you prefer. We also offer paid sick leave and paid time off.
We give raises on a quarterly basis, if possible. Everyone gets a 1% raise each time we hit our profit goal. We also have annual goals with annual bonuses.
Requirements
Any experience level
Food handler certificate
Takes food safety practices seriously
Good problem solving; can figure out how to save a recipe if something goes wrong
Good at multi-tasking; can prep and cook multiple dishes at once
Attention to detail; can roll tacos and apply labels neatly
Good at following instruction and recipes
Good at communicating problems, changes, and ideas
Reliable; can be relied upon to deliver food before the shop closes every Friday
Good work ethic; cares about the quality of their work, and is receptive to feedback
Clean vehicle; has a way to transport lots of food between the kitchen and the shop
